Fforwm Tirlun - was established in 2002, with the purpose of 'bringing the landscape industry together in Wales'. By 2007 a wide spectrum of organizations and businesses involved in landscape work had joined Fforwm Tirlun and it had become clear that its role needed to be more tightly focused in future.
The Welsh Assembly Government commissioned Aberystwyth based consultants ICPL to help provide that focus . It has now been agreed that:
the overall aim of Fforwm Tirlun is to help the landscape industry in Wales win sustainable business.
In future Fforwm Tirlun will look to help deliver the policies and programmes of the Welsh Assembly Government and its agencies, by providing opportunities to exchange views and ideas and to be a voice for the industry in Wales. Consideration will be given to strengthening links with trade associations, public agencies, and academic and professional institutions to help Welsh business better prepare and compete for business, and deliver work to a high standard and in ways that are sustainable.
In particular, the Fforwm Tirlun will look to identify, support and promote the landscape industry in Wales in order to meet the priorities of the Environment Strategy including but not limited to:
